Frequently asked questions
How do I save one page of a PDF as its own file?
Open the PDF, click that page, and click Extract. You'll get a new PDF containing just that page.
What is the difference between extracting and splitting a PDF?
Extract saves the pages you hand-pick as a new PDF. Split PDF cuts the whole document into several files by ranges or page counts.
Can I get each selected page as its own file?
Yes. Choose Separate PDFs under Save as and each selected page becomes its own file, downloaded together as a zip.
Does extracting reduce quality?
No. The pages are copied exactly as they are, with no re-compression, so text, images and links on them look and work the same. The document info (title, author) is kept, and so are the bookmarks (the outline) and fillable form fields on the pages you keep. When merging, each file's bookmarks sit under a bookmark named after the file, and a form field whose name another file already uses gets a "_2" suffix.
Can I extract pages from a password-protected PDF?
Unlock it first with Unlock PDF, using its password, then extract from the unlocked copy.
Is my PDF uploaded when I extract pages?
No. Everything happens in your browser.
