Turn iPhone HEIC photos into PNG files for editing in Photoshop, Figma or Canva, or for apps that reject HEIC. PNG adds no further compression loss, but the files are much larger than JPGs. Photos are decoded on your device and never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions
Should I convert HEIC to PNG or JPG?
JPG is much smaller and fine for sharing: use HEIC to JPG. Choose PNG when you'll edit the photo and want no further compression loss.
Is the PNG lossless?
The PNG adds no new loss, but the HEIC was already compressed by the camera, so it isn't better than the original. HDR and 10-bit iPhone photos become standard 8-bit PNGs, so bright highlights look flatter.
Why are the PNG files so large?
A PNG stores every pixel exactly, and a 12-megapixel photo has a lot of them, so it is often many times the size of the HEIC.
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
No. Camera photos have no transparent pixels. To cut out the background, use an image editor after converting.
Does it work on Windows?
Yes. HEIC photos are decoded in the browser, so no codec or app install is needed.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. They never leave your device.

What isn't converted
The motion part of a Live Photo: only the still image is converted.
Portrait depth data and extra images stored in the HEIC.
EXIF details such as camera model and GPS location.
If the PNG is too big to upload, compress to 200 KB or convert to JPG instead.
