Passport Size Photo Maker (35×45 mm & 2×2 in)

Turn any photo into a passport size photo: it's cropped to 35×45 mm and saved at 300 dpi, so it prints at the right size, and US 2×2 in and other sizes are a click away. Everything happens in your browser, so your ID photo is never uploaded.

How to use Passport Size Photo

  1. Drop a photo here or choose a file. Use one taken against a plain white background, facing the camera.
  2. It's cropped to fill 35×45 mm (413×531 px), centred. Pick US 2×2 in, Canada or China visa from the Size for list if you need those, or type another pixel size.
  3. Choose JPEG as the format, which saves the 300 dpi print size.
  4. Download the photo, and compress it if the form has a KB limit.

Frequently asked questions

What size is a passport photo in India?

For Passport Seva applications in India, the passport application instructions ask for a colour photo of 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm (35×45 mm) with a plain white background. Indian passport applications made abroad can differ: VFS in the US, for example, asks for 2×2 in (51×51 mm) on white. Check the checklist of the office handling your application.

What size is a passport photo in pixels?

At 300 dpi, 35×45 mm is 413×531 pixels and a 2×2 inch photo is 600×600 pixels. Both are in the Size for list. If an online form asks for exact pixel dimensions, type them as a custom size.

Will the photo print at the right size?

Yes. JPEGs saved at a passport preset are marked 300 dpi, so printing at 100% gives the real size.

Does it check the background or face position?

No. It only crops and resizes. Start with a photo taken against a plain white background, with your face centred and filling most of the frame, as Passport Seva and most other passport rules require. If the background isn't plain, remove the background and set it to white first.

How do I get the photo under 50 KB for an online form?

Download it as a JPEG, then drop it into compress to 50 KB, or compress to 20 KB if the form is stricter. Check your form's notice for its limits; the exam photo and signature size guide lists them for SSC, UPSC, IBPS, NTA exams and PAN.

Is my photo uploaded?

No. It's processed in your browser and never leaves your device.
